To receive electrical service from REC requires a membership in the Cooperative. Memberships are $5.  A deposit may be required which is the total of the two highest bills over a 12 month history based on recent occupancy.   New services are charged a system average.  To avoid a deposit, a credit report can be obtained for the consumer to determine if the deposit can be waived or lowered.
